How to add photos and your voice

  1. 1

    Write the card

    Occasion, their name, your message.
  2. 2

    Add photos

Pick up to 5 from your phone. They're resized in your browser, so even big ones upload fast.
  3. 3

    Record your voice

Tap record and talk for up to 15 seconds. Listen back, and redo it as many times as you like.
  4. 4

    Share it

The photos appear under your message as polaroids they can tap to enlarge. Your voice note has its own play button.

Which photos to choose

One great photo beats five good ones.

  • Start with the one that makes you both laugh.
  • Add a couple from different years, so the card tells a little story.
  • Pick photos of the two of you over scenery.
  • Choose blurry photos with a story over sharp ones without.

What to say in 15 seconds

Fifteen seconds is about two sentences, which is plenty. Say their name, say the one thing, and stop.

  • Sing. “Happy Birthday” fits almost exactly, and grandparents especially love it.
  • Read your message aloud. If you freeze, this works every time. Hearing it in your voice changes it.
  • Leave a laugh in. Don't re-record because you giggled. That's the best bit.

What happens to the photos

Photos are re-encoded on our server, which removes hidden data like GPS location. They're only shown on the card they belong to, and deleting the card deletes them. See our privacy policy for the details.

P.S.Quick questions

Are photos and voice notes free?
They're part of the fancy card, $4.99 once for that card. You can add them before or after you share it, up until they open the card.
How many photos can I add?
Up to 5 per card.
Can I re-record my voice note?
Yes, as many times as you like before you save.
Do they need to download anything to hear it?
No. It plays in their browser.

That's everything you need. The rest is just picking a photo and saying what you mean.
